At present, in the university, there are 21 full time undergraduate specialty, including Chinese Language and Literature, Information and Precise Calculus, Economics, Electronic Information Engineering, English Language, Chemical Engineering and Craft, Sports Education, Arts and Design, Computer Science and Technology, Tourism Administration, Fine Arts, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Marketing, International Economy and Trade, Law, Bioscience, Ethnology, Business Administration, Physics, Chemistry, Ideology, Political Science Education, and so on. There are 15 departments, and High Education Center of Three Gorges Migrants in Chongqing Municipality, Adult Education College and High Professional and Technological College. The university has privilege to authorize Bachelor's Degree. Since 1978, more than 25,000 students with advanced skill graduated from school and became the backbones in various fields for the national economic construction and social development.

　　In the university, there is a journal called The Journal of Chongqing Three Gorges University. Since 1998, the faculty has published 1893 articles, about 599 of these articles have been published in key periodicals, and also published 49 academic works, 8 articles researched by the authority works such as SCI, ET, and ISTP, and has undertaken more than 100 scientific research projects in national level or provincial level.
